She is the incarnation of Goddess Saraswati the goddess of Knowledge and the giver of the four Vedas.
Gayatri Devi sits on a red lotus signifying wealth; she is accompanied by a white swan signifying purity; she holds a book in one hand - signifying knowledge and a cure in another signifying health.
She is shown as having 5 heads signifying the Panch Prana or the 5 senses.
Gayatri Mantra is dedicated to the Sun.
The Sun is considered as Savitur the Creator.
Gayatri mantra is a prayer to eternal source of light and life the Sun to guide ones intellect in all matters and awakens our consciousness.
